Optimization Study of CO2 Gas Absorption with NaOH Absorbent Continuous System in Raschig Ring Packing Column Using Box–Behnken Design

Increasing CO2 gas emissions results in climate change by increasing air temperature and worsening environmental problems. It is necessary to control the overcome this. This research aims optimize absorption of with 0.1 M NaOH absorbent column Raschig ring stuffing material using response surface methodology (RSM). was conducted a continuous system three independent variables varying contact time (10–80 min), flow rate (2–5 L/min), (1–5 L/min). The this study were (L/min) mass transfer coefficient, while constant at 20 L/min. Air mix before occurs into packing so that absorbent. Optimization Design Expert 13 RSM Box–Behnken (BBD) yielded optimal conditions an 80 min, 5 L/min, 3.97 1.443 mol/min m2 atm, desirability 0.999 (≈100%).
